When I was recovering and was on my emotional healing journey few years back, I cried for 3 months just to release ALL my stuffed up emotions. Since my childhood I used to swallow my feelings of not speaking up , expressing myself and my truth, and after my car accident and losing my only brother I did not know how to deal with my emotions and mix of various feelings. In the society crying is not considered as normal way of expressing feelings. There is fear of communicating about tears. It is a belief system that if men cries, he is being a crybaby or given other names. It is important for any being on this planet to cry.
Once I started my healing journey, the first thing that helped me to breathe and release my feelings and emotions was crying. My heart felt lighter and as I cried more and more stiffed up emotions got loose and washed away in the ocean of tears. It is ok to cry. It is normal to cry. It is healthy to cry. You have permission to cry.
Crying detoxifies, purifies and cleanses our eyes and body. Did you know that there are 38 toxic chemicals in a tear of sadness, while only ONE toxin exists in a tear of joy?
As you cry in sadness, fear, or confusion, you cleanse the body and spirit of toxins which cloud the mind and prevent it from accepting the truth.
1. Crying helps us to see better
Starting with the most basic function of tears, they enable us to see. Literally. Tears not only lubricate our eyeballs and eyelids, they also prevent dehydration of our various mucous membranes. No lubrication, no eyesight.
2. Crying removes toxins :
Emotional tears–those formed in distress or grief–contained more toxic byproducts than tears of irritation (think onion peeling). Are tears toxic then? No! They actually remove toxins from our body that build up courtesy of stress. They are like a natural therapy or massage session, but they cost a lot less!
3. Crying lowers stress.
Tears really are like perspiration in that exercising and crying both relieve stress. Suppressing tears increases stress levels, and contributes to diseases aggravated by stress, such as high blood pressure, heart problems, and peptic ulcers.
All feelings are meant to be FELT. You can heal only by feeling. I would love to hear your stories of healing or if you or anyone you know is having hard time to cry. Email me email@example.com or connect me on Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/Embraceyourinnerself
